Did you know we make all of our deli salads and pastas in our main kitchen here in Tucson daily?  

We do!  

Our recipes are our own from the traditions of our families.  We are proud to serve these delicious salads to you and your family knowing that we use only the best ingredients from our local vendors here in Tucson.

One of our more popular side pastas is the Chinese Sesame Noodle.  This recipe comes from our CEO and founder, Cheree Garrett’s, mother, Betty Jane.   This is the perfect light pasta with its peanut and sesame flavors.  You can order this in our personal sizes as well as by the pound.  We also use this pasta on our Asian Chicken Salad.

Chinese Sesame Noodles  

serves 4-6

 

Ingredients:

1 pound of Angel Hair Pasta

1 ¼ cups of light soy sauce

1/2 cup of sesame oil

1 Tablespoon of sugar

1 heaping Tablespoon of Chunky Peanut Butter

½ cup of sesame seeds

1 Tablespoon crushed red pepper

 

Directions:

Bring water to boil in a pan.  Add pasta and cook till done or until you achieve desired texture.

(usually 6 to 7 minutes al dente)

While pasta is cooking, prepare in a sauce pan the following:

 

1 ¼ cups of light soy sauce

½ cup of sesame oil

1 Tablespoon of sugar

1 Tablespoon of Chunky Peanut Butter

Bring this sauce to a boil for 1 minute.

 

Next,  in a small saucepan, stir constantly and toast the following:

½ cup of sesame seeds

1 Tablespoon crushed red peppe

 

Next,  add toasted mix to the sauce and stir

 

Drain cooked noodles thoroughly

Add noodles to a serving bowl with the mix and stir the sauce thoroughly while hot. Cover with saran wrap and let steam for 10-15 minutes.

Stir to distribute the sauce.  Noodles should be a dark brown in color. You can serve with diced green onion for garnish.
